Working for the Nordstrom Beauty Department back in 2016, it was the norm to have customers come in overwhelmed by conflicting advice and marketing jargon. I loved many parts of that job, but I quickly realized that I didn’t have it in me to become a pushy cog in the sales machine. All I knew was that I wanted to help people find what really worked for them instead of letting them feel like they had to figure it out alone or worse, bullied into buying a bunch of products that would only collect dust in their bathroom cabinets. What I didn’t know is that my obstinate streak would be the spark that started Love Based Beauty.

Since then, I’ve learned to love a good scientific research journal, appreciated the woo-woo, and gained something that even Chat GPT can’t give you when you need answers about your skin: perspective. A Google search hasn’t experienced the frustration of chronic acne and a Reddit thread doesn’t know what treatment plan would work for your unique lifestyle & skin needs. Modern skincare is less about one-size-fits-all remedies or pushing & punishing your skin; instead, it focuses on understanding & nurturing, but that’s all relative so it’s important to find balance specifically for you. It also doesn’t hurt when your products smell yummy!

It’s become my mission to create an experience that you’d expect to have to visit to New York or LA to find. I love Milwaukee and I think the people here deserve to have the best. Throughout this labor of love, I’ve spent countless hours scouting for the perfect product lines with sophisticated formulas that make you look forward to doing your skincare routine. I invested in a lot of ambient lighting too (very important), and make it a point to continue broadening my perspective on skincare and integrative wellness. Some of my training includes Sculptural Lifting Technique in Los Angeles with Yachov Gershkovich and Myofascial Release Therapy techniques under John Barnes in Boston, with continued individual training from a local expert-level MFR therapist.

It brings me so much joy to share Love Based Beauty with you and to watch your skin transform. Once you know what it needs to thrive, you are going to fall in love with your skincare ritual .
